The Art of Conscious Change

In their daily life, billions people around the world experience anger, discontent, jealousy, sadness, loneliness, disappointment, exhaustion, overwhelm, humiliation, frustration, abandonment and worry. They are disturbed by the past or by an uncertain future. Life is full of various minor issues and problems. We tend to label these minor problems as ordinary and temporary. Actually, they are chronic. No-one can guarantee that on one day one of these minor problems will not turn into a major one and demand immediate attention. Since many of these major problems remain without final resolution, usually suffering follows.

Humans are very adaptable. We can tolerate some circumstance for a long time, telling ourselves: “It’s difficult, but I’ll manage” or “It’ll pass”. But it is not inevitable to continue suffering like this.

As of today thousands of people have been able to liberate themselves from both minor and major problems thanks to the Art of Conscious Change method. They have learned how to release these obstacles by themselves. For example - while engaged into an unpleasant conversation, participants are able to release their disturbing emotions and thoughts in five seconds and do it without anyone else noticing. Their results are permanent and irreversible.

What will the automatic emotions and thoughts be replaced with? Natural stability, calmness, inner freedom and empathy. The increase in efficiency and energy is manyfold. However, what is most important – instead of automatic reactions, awareness will now start to dominate. Awareness is the most important instrument of every human being - the foundation of professional excellence, wisdom and creativity.

What is the Art of Conscious Change?

The Art of Conscious Change is the summary of my realizations and discoveries acquired during 30 years of empirical research and 25 years of experience in teaching awareness and yoga. It’s roots are in the deepest, most ancient wisdom teachings, that I re-molded for the people of the 21st century. Since 2008 thousands of participants have shared their positive experience with what they have learned, testifying to the effectiveness of this method and new approach to a human. Collapse below.

The Art of Conscious Change method supports advancements in personal sustainability and is unique in terms of immediate effect, ease of use, universal applicability and lasting positive influence. The method is an integral part of Human 2.0 personal development program outlined by Ingvar Villido. Cornerstone of the program is active use of awareness that leads to acquiring a fundamentally new skill-set to increase the quality of life. Human 2.0 is the person who has learned to use consciousness and it’s qualities as the primary force in life; has discovered their True Self; is able to independently release harmful automatic reactions and habits; is active, effective and creative in daily activities.

I can confirm that life without negative emotions and suffering is possible, and in fact, normal to every human being. Once you learn to release those automatic emotions and thoughts, you can really start to live from your highest potential and True Self.

The courses

The Art of Conscious Change curriculum consists of five 1-day courses in total. Every course focuses on a specific level of human functioning and teaches practical every-day techniques to influence that level. All courses are based on awareness and teach, how to actively use intellect – the most powerful instrument of every human. The first two courses are always taught together as a set, III, IV and V can be attended whenever chosen. Collapse below.

I course focuses on the empirical understanding of the inner “anatomy”: what are feeling, emotions, thinking process, awareness, consciousness and the True Self. The course outlines their characteristics, principles of action, their origin and hierarchy of influence. It explains how automatic reactions are formed. A clear definition and experience of consciousness will be provided. The course will lead to the discovery and experience of True Self. You will receive an answer to one of the core question – what’s wrong with me?

II course focuses selectively on the vital level, emotions and moods. One will learn to discover them, adequately orientate among them and release the ones that have a harmful effect. The course will provide techniques how to release the emotions that are just being activated; ones that already are active; that have been chronically active for years; emotions that cause tension in the shoulder-neck area and emotions related to the diseases of the physical body. In addition you will learn how to become free of fear.

III course focuses selectively on the mental level, the mind and memory. You learn how to release disturbing memories, imaginations about the future as well as biased thoughts that do not correlate with actual events in real-time.

IV course focuses selectively on learning to discover and use intellect – the most powerful executive instrument of every human being. One will learn how to develop their ability to differentiate, deepen, comprehend, gain insight, intuition, inspiration as well as apply intention and will. You will also learn to prolong the use of active awareness in all kinds of situations. The level of intellect is beyond mind and helps to further develop the potentials of a Human 2.0.

V course focuses on the transition from the old paradigm based on emotions and mind to the new one – a paradigm based on deliberate use of awareness. One will learn how to live and carry out daily activities in a new way – acquire information using the intellect, analyze it accordingly and then engage in an aware way.

Birth of the Art of Conscious Change

Using all of my previous experience I created this method in Estonia in 2008. I initially developed it to help my Kriya Yoga students, so that they could better progress with their practice. Namely, I investigated the nature of their obstacles and found out that the main reason why they cannot fully use the high-tech knowledge of Babaji’s Kriya Yoga (BKY), is the inner automation – their habits and reactions. So, I created a method that helped them to release their “autopilot” and at one point was proposed to teach this knowledge publicly, for the benefit of all. From 2010 onwards I have received invitations to teach it abroad – going to Brazil, Germany, Russia, USA etc. The teaching has expanded organically ever since. In addition to myself I have also licensed some of my students to conduct the course, adding a valuable dimension in terms of sub-specialities they focus on. Collapse below.

The art of conscious change started according to the needs of my Babaji’s Kriya Yoga (BKY) students. I saw that practitioners cannot use the teachings of BKY properly to progress, that they cannot fully grasp it. Deep yoga practices have previously been available only for those, who dedicate fully and choose to step out of the regular life as we know it. The word yoga means “to merge” one’s True Self with the its source– perfection attained as the deepest level of inner purification. The techniques of BKY originate from Siddhars, yogis who have attained this perfection. But due to an immense chasm between them and regular people from the street, the techniques of the Siddhars are most often not applicable immediately. To bridge that chasm, a preparation, an intermediate knowledge is needed. This became my task – find out how to resolve the contradiction between application of ancient deep knowledge while continuously taking part from everyday activities and bridge the chasm between the two. All preparations in yoga are the inner kind, nothing else can be prepared. And as the inner influences the whole life, directly, I had always been interested in how it functions, what are the principles.

To help my students, I started to investigate where the understanding of BKY teaching gets stuck, what are the reasons? I discovered that this happens because their practice is overtaken by various automatic processes. This is why I started to investigate the mechanism of automation – how it is formed, it’s principles of action, how to release it and prevent it? The deeper I went, the more I found out about the underlying issues. My analysis revealed that approximately 95% of people’s activities are automatic, subconscious and only 5% of them are conscious. Almost 8 billion people live an automatic and subconscious life, where they themselves are not represented. I discovered emotional reactions that work completely automatically and in most part independently from a person’s will. I also found out that people don’t know how to direct their thoughts, these are also automatic. I learned that although all people have awareness, they actually use it very rarely in everyday life. And I discovered one more thing - that people don’t know their actual identity, their True Self. They practically don’t. Therefore there is also no knowledge about how to liberate oneself from suffering and other obstacles, although it is possible to become absolutely free from all of that.

When I heard out about the five-dimensional construction of a human from BKY, it helped me to systemize all my previous knowledge. Pieces of the puzzle came together. Further synthesizing the ancient knowledge with contemporary way of life, I was able to create accurate descriptions and a new method. To design the content of the Art of Conscious Change into such format, that every person without any previous preparation could understand it, has been one of the most challenging tasks. The curriculum consisting of five courses in total covers all the pain-points as well as development potentials of a human. But the Art of Conscious Change is something more – it is exactly this intermediate missing link, a preparation to go deeper. To summarize, it teaches how a person can release all these emotions that he/she does not need in real time; release all beliefs and thoughts that are not needed and to remain in awareness. The final goal of the teaching is to completely release a person from his/her automatic reactions. In this way only the True Self will remain as the commander. I taught this method to practitioners of BKY for many years, until one of them asked if I could consider teaching this knowledge publicly – because they experienced the positive effect and saw the same kind of problems bothering other people as well. So, I told: why not, arrange a course, then.
