NEW! Conversations with Ingvar: Autumn Anxiety (in EST; ENG translation), @Online

The lecture is part of a NEW series “Conversations with Ingvar” (In Estonian, with translation option into ENG).

Topic on November 5th: Autumn Anxiety

We all feel bad from time to time: either frustrated, sad, unhappy. These emotions are part of being human. They are a part of our lives. People say that emotions add color to life. But what if a dark cloud of unhappiness is stalking you? And if it becomes a companion for days or weeks, even months…

When the weather becomes gray and gloomy, and sunshine is rare, our mood also turns gloomy. We all seem to know the main “culprit” – darkness affects our biological clock, and you may feel constantly tired or in a bad mood.
Unfortunately, we cannot change the weather. However, the good news is that we can change our inner world – including our emotions – which include being in a bad mood. It’s estimated that one in five people will experience depression during their lifetime, and about half of our fellow citizens will feel seasons negatively affect their mood. You are not alone!

Do you sometimes feel like you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, and instead want hide behind the curtains, not go anywhere, do nothing, see anyone? None of the activities offer any joy? There is no hope for things to improve in the future? Are you grumpy, tired, and unhappy?
Maybe you feel depressed because of losing the job to which you dedicated the best years of your life; Or after separation from your spouse, having put a lot of effort into building a life together. Maybe you cannot get used to your children leaving home and starting their own lives. Or maybe you’re just fed up with this dark season, but can’t fly away to soak under the sun…

Why do we get depressed? How do external factors affect our mood? Where to find the joy of life? What to do if you feel as if in a black hole?
Is feeling low an emotion or something more? What can you do to ensure that an ever-clear sky, regardless of the weather?

In this conversation, Ingvar Villido will point out the deeper causes of low mood and shows the way to attain neutrality.
