Conversations with Ingvar: Firm Ground or Shaky Esoterics
The lecture is part of a series “Conversations with Ingvar” (In Estonian, with translation option into ENG).
Have you noticed that often people are more curious about what they see in their dreams rather than to understand what they see in their daily life?
All kinds of rituals, taros, crystals, horoscopes, and interpreting dreams are in vogue. Where does this come from? Why do people want to mystify the world or explain everything mentally?
Does this indicate that people are looking for something? Maybe more than just this everyday life. Or because they don’t want to face the problems and take responsibility?
Maybe you too have been confused, looking for a way out, and wanted someone to explain the world and how things work.
Do you also think that something more is in reach? But you don’t know what it is!
Are you too looking for a meaning for your existence?
Maybe it’s the uncertainty of life and future that makes you grab something that would provide spiritual pointers and at least somehow explain the confusing situation?
If we look at all these different paths of self-development, we can see that in the context of modern Newageic esoterics, the so-called scientific approach is mixed with interpretations and ideas from evolutionary and quantum theory, metaphysics, and psychology, but also religions.
Esoteric as a term encompasses many different practices veiled in mystery. But where lies the secret of these massive publicly available ideas and practices?
So what exactly are these alternative views of life and how do they differ from those based on science or evidence?
What is the essence of esotericism and the alternative view of life and where to draw the line?
Why has society become so favorable of esoterics? What is the right path of self-development for you? How can you be sure that you are not dreaming with your eyes open?
In this conversation, Ingvar Villido gives an overview of what is esoterics, explains the deeper path of self-development, and shares practical advice on how to cope well with everyday life and reality.
