Originating from the Siddhars
Babaji Kriya Yoga (BKY) is, in my perspective, the highest teaching in existence at the moment. The techniques are based on such a profound knowledge of the workings of our inner world that their effect surpasses the limits of common understanding; this is what makes BKY so extraordinary. The 144 techniques of Babaji Kriya Yoga, or actions with awareness, fill virtually every void in our lives and give us an indication of potentials that we are not even aware of. My deepest gratitude to the Mahasiddhars and Kriya Babaji for sharing these profound teachings with us.
Kriya Yoga is taught in the oral tradition, passed directly from teacher to student. The techniques are acquired in three distinct segments, or initiations.
An ancient inner science
Babaji Kriya Yoga (BKY) is an ancient holistic development system for deepening the skill of conscious action and for mastering of your inner tools. The tradition of Kriya Yoga dates back to the ancient scientists and yoga masters, the Mahasiddhars, who lived and taught in Tamil, South India.
Siddhar Kriya Babaji created Kriya Yoga based on his knowledge of the Tamil 18 Siddhar Tradition, which had been passed on to him by his teachers, Siddhars Agastyar and Boganathar.
Kriya Yoga that I teach originates directly from Siddhar Babaji, who in 1953 initiated yogi S.A.A. Ramaiah and in 2004 reached me via his disciple, M. Govindan Satchidananda.
Paramhansa Yogananda writes the following in Autobiography of a Yogi (Chapter 26 – The Science of Kriya Yoga): the system of Kriya Yoga consists of several techniques based on different pranayama, mantras and mudras, with the aim of significantly accelerating spiritual development and evoking a state of deep peace and divine unity.
Siddhar Patanjali writes in his Yoga Sutras (sutra 2.1): Kriya Yoga, the yoga of conscious action, consists of discipline (tapas), introspection (svadhyaya), and of concentration and surrendering to Ishvara, the eternally perfect consciousness (Ishvarapranidana).
The effect of Kriya is omnipresent. It is like gravity, which affects everyone.
Initiation as Acharya, Master Teacher
I have received and practiced many teachings along my path, but none of them was able to answer all of my questions. Babaji Kriya Yoga (BKY) was a turning point for me. Once I started practicing the techniques, in 2004, all my previous knowledge started to fit into the larger picture, like pieces in a puzzle: I understood human nature as a whole. Today there is nothing in my life but conscious action – kriya.
In 2007 I was initiated as Acharya, master teacher of Kriya Yoga, and received a spiritual name, Ishwarananda. Since then I have passed on the knowledge of Babaji Kriya Yoga to others, and am today one of only few Acharyas authorized to initiate disciples into all three levels of BKY. In Estonia, the initiations take place at Lilleoru, part of the global network of Babaji Kriya Yoga centres since 2004.

“The practice of Babaji Kriya Yoga makes a Buddhist a better Buddhist, a Christian a better Christian, a Muslim a better Muslim, and an atheist a better atheist. This means that the wisdom of Babaji Kriya Yoga transcends these things.”
